One string at a time.
You don't need a guitar to start discovering how it works. Explore the six strings, hear what the frets do, and play a five-note melody. No score or timer.
Get to know your guitar
On a real guitar, string 6 is the thickest, lowest-sounding E string; string 1 is the thinnest, highest-sounding E. A fret changes pitch. Here, every string and fret can be heard by tapping it.
The diagram is a learning map, not a drawing of how to hold your guitar. String 6 is shown at the top; string 1 is at the bottom.
